Teaching Students To Use Text Annotation & Text Evidence (7 hrs)

(7 Hours) This course will teach participants the importance of making thoughtful text annotations and using context clues to deepen understanding of a particular text and uncover the meaning of unfamiliar words. Teachers will learn how to instruct students at multiple grade levels, proper annotation techniques that will ultimately help their students respond more effectively on writing assignments.  In addition, participants will learn how to set a purpose for their students when reading a new text, as well as how to assess the depth of their understanding through crafted writing prompts and assessment questions.
